1. One that is odd.

From The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition

Please realize that I do not wish to offend anyone that created these items. Obviously they mean something important to somebody or they would not exist. I respect freedom of expression and also see this category of items as interesting and humorous~ so let's enjoy them!

Wednesday Welcome: Keller's Glass

Each week I'm using Etsy's Pounce feature in order to discover new items "from undiscovered shops waiting for their first sale" as the Etsy site states. This week's welcome is extended to Keller's Glass in Charleston, SC. Keller finds inspiration from "... patterns and shapes that are found in everyday life. I am truly inspired by the lines of a building, the pattern of a quilt, the shapes of nature and so on and on." These functional fused glass works are the result!

Friday Favorites: Fancy Pet Beds

Are you among the many people in this world who treat your pets like humans? I think quite possibly the creators of these fancy pet beds are in that group of people too!

Our two cats would look adorable in any of these, but they prefer to sleep with us on our beds at night. Puff almost always chooses our daughter's bed these days while Slinky moves on and off of our bed. Not sure where he goes while everyone is asleep...

Wednesday Welcome: Identity Prints

Each week I'm using Etsy's Pounce feature in order to discover new items "from undiscovered shops waiting for their first sale" as the Etsy site states. This week's welcome is extended to Identity Prints of New York. Looking for something unique? This is it, because your own actual fingerprints are used to make these custom paintings!

Here is the artist's description of how it is done:
"...our team sends you our IDENTITY PRINTS KIT, which includes an ink pad, our select card where you stamp your selected finger 5 times and a prepaid envelope.
You then choose the finger print you like, along with your 2 color choices, sign to approve and send back in the prepaid envelope supplied in the kit.
Once our staff receives your IDENTITY PRINTS KIT we send you a confirmation email along with a computer rendering of your finger print with the colors you selected. We then begin creating your artwork and in 1-2 weeks your custom "like no other" in the world artwork arrives at your doorstep ready to be hung."
Sounds pretty cool and as you can see, the finished products look great!

California Blue

Today I'm sending a big thank you to Melissa at California Blue in San Jose. She offered these pretty Pearl Dew Drop Earrings as a giveaway prize and I was the lucky winner!

Melissa says she makes "jewelry that is fresh and casual with the goal of representing the laid back style of Northern California. In the end, my work is a humble tribute to the beautiful place where I live and attempts to capture a certain joie de vivre". Seems like she has succeeded! Click her shop banner below to see more of her pretty things!

Thanks also to the Cherry Blossoms Blog for hosting the giveaway; visit the Cherry Blossoms shop to find adorable hand made hair accessories for infants, toddlers, & children.
