Wednesday Welcome: Visual Punctuation

Each week I'm using Etsy's Pounce feature in order to discover new items "from undiscovered shops waiting for their first sale" as the Etsy site states. This week's welcome is extended to Visual Punctuation in New Jersey. This is how Liz describes the craftsmanship of these beautifully detailed cuffs: "This bracelet is made with delica beads on a loom. Delica beads are Japanese seed beads, which are consistent in size and color, making them ideal for loom work. The loom work is then hand stitched around a metal cuff to an ultra-suede backing. The metal base is adjustable, allowing the cuff to fit a multitude of wrist sizes." Sounds like a lot of work with beautiful end results! There are a nice variety of designs in her shop to choose from, here are a few to get you started:

Friday Favorites Plus a Great Recipe

Baking season has officially started. There is flour on the floor and I'm almost out of sugar. But I can say our family is truly enjoying the very yummy Snickerdoodle Cookies that came out of the oven yesterday afternoon. I used this simple recipe from Recipezaar:

Soft Snickerdoodle Cookies:

• 1 cup butter
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 2 3/4 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 3 tablespoons sugar
• 3 teaspoons cinnamon

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Mix butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs thoroughly in a large bowl.
3. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
4. Blend dry ingredients into butter mixture.
5. Chill dough, and chill an un-greased cookie sheet for about 10-15 minutes in the fridge.
6. Meanwhile, mix 3 tablespoons sugar, and 3 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl.
7. Scoop 1 inch globs of dough into the sugar/ cinnamon mixture.
8. Coat by gently rolling balls of dough in the sugar mixture.
9. Place on chilled un-greased cookie sheet, and bake 10 minutes.
10. Remove from pan immediately.

Makes 24.
